Terms of Service

lib/legal.ts.1. Who we are, and these terms
My League Rules (the “Service”) is operated by [TO CONFIRM: your full legal name], trading as My League Rules. These terms govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the Service.
2. Your account
You need an account to run a league. Keep your login details secure and don’t share them - anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
3. Your leagues and content
You keep ownership of the league data you enter. You give us permission to store and process it only so far as we need to in order to run the Service for you.
League admins are responsible for the players, results and other content they add, including having the right to record personal data about other people. Public leagues are visible to anyone with the link - if that isn’t what you want, a paid plan can make a league private. See our Privacy & Cookies policy for how we handle it.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the Service: no attempting to disrupt or break it, no unlawful or abusive content, no using it to harass anyone, and no automated scraping or reselling of it. We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this.
5. Plans and prices
The Kickabout plan is free and always will be. It allows one league, up to 20 saved players, and the league is public.
Semi-Pro is £4.99 per month or £49 per year, and adds unlimited players, private leagues, section visibility controls and past-season history. Pro and Director are not yet available.
Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. We may change prices, but never for a period you have already paid for - we will email you at least 30 days before a change affects your renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
6. Free trial
Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. We collect your payment details when you start it, but take no payment until the trial ends. Cancel any time during the trial and you are not charged at all. If you don’t cancel, your first payment is taken when the trial ends and the subscription continues as below.
7. Billing, renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period - monthly or yearly, whichever you chose - until you cancel. Payments are taken by Stripe.
You can cancel at any time from the Subscription page in your league, which opens Stripe’s billing portal. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
We don’t give partial refunds for time left in a period - the free trial is there so you can decide before paying anything. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights as a consumer, and it doesn’t stop us refunding you where something has genuinely gone wrong; just ask.
8. Failed payments and lapsed plans
If a payment fails, Stripe retries it over a period of days and your plan keeps working while it does - we would rather not cut you off over an expired card. If payment ultimately can’t be collected, the league returns to the Kickabout plan.
Dropping to the free plan never deletes your data. If you are over a free-plan limit, your league becomes read-only for the things that exceed it rather than losing anything, and everything comes back if you resubscribe.
9. Availability
We work to keep the Service running but don’t promise uninterrupted availability. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because of a problem at one of the providers we depend on. There is no uptime guarantee, and the Service is not a system of record - keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose.
10. Liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
11. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your league or account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, or if we have to stop offering the Service - in which case we will give you reasonable notice and, where you have paid for a period you can no longer use, a pro-rata refund for it.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the updated version here with a new date, and for changes that materially affect your rights we will email account holders in advance. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
